I picked this facility because it was in a small town and has a small town feel. This is important to me because I know my mom is getting the love and attention she deserves. The staff is somewhat different , but they have an excellent staff now! The facility is very warm, clean and loving. I know my mother is being very well taken care of.
They screamed at her and argued with her and never treated her with respect. Not once in over 40 days was I consulted on her progress or her condition. The aide there was insisting that ,y mother remain and never even come home. It was the worst smelly filthy place and it should be shut down.

I told them my mom did not eat fried food or red meat so they totally ignore this . I had to bring food twice a day and find my mom over drugged and sitting in a wheel chair dripping with urine and cold because they would not offer her a blanket. I visit this facility a number of times through the year to bring or pickup a relative volunteer who has worked there for a number of years.
She was left in a wheel chair all day and was dripping in urine from her chair because the help was more concerned about their cell phone activities and watching tv than patient care. The food was horrible Each day I came twice to bring food. My mother had a serious urine tract infection due to total neglect and the aids there would forget to give her the medications prescribed to treat the urinary tract infections. They woke her up at 6 am and forced her to sit at a table all by herself with no newspaper or food until hours later.
They are very short staffed and hire temps that don’t get to know the patients. We found our mother in the floor, naked and covered in vomit. She had been hollering for help, but the call light was broken.

The places she was in before were below her needs. She arrived in a wheelchair with a broken hip, and I saw how she was tethered with an alarm that would go off if she tried to rise out of it.
She wasn’t even supposed to be out of bed due to a broken leg. Patients aren’t being cleaned or bathed like they should be. The food is awful, and they aren’t assisting patients with feedings like they should. There is so much more I could share, but I will just strongly encourage anyone to seek other places for their loved ones. I would recommend more security (e.g., a tricky gadget) on perimeter gates, to make it harder for the residents to open from their side, in case their judgement is in decline. My mother had stayed at Colonial Oaks Guest Care. When she was there, she was very content, and I was very happy.

They have aides on every hall and they're right out in the hall from his room. I ate there the other day with my father. They stole my mother’s clothes and when you report it nothing is done. Do not ever go there you will be sickened by the odors. I saw my mother’s records and they had on her records that she was black and my mother is white . They do not answer their phones and the management never returns calls. It is a horror and I am still trying to figure out how to have this horrible place shut down. The staff turns off all of the lights at7pm and expect the people to go to sleep so they will be bothered.
